Thoughts: How much did I adore this outfit? A lot. I’m so thrilled to begin shifting my closet in the direction of spring/summer time, and this was a toddler move in that path. Summer for me is all about the Trailblazer, closely prairie-main I will miss out on the layering, but it will be awesome to be reunited with items like my vintage RL skirts (like this a single) and patchwork jackets. In the meantime, I took inspiration from the skirt designs below to pull with each other the relaxation of the outfit. Honest isle pairs perfectly with florals (in a matched palette, of study course), and I selected this plaid jacket simply because its grey and blue also slotted in properly. The harmony of colors keeps every thing in check, no pun intended, so it appears to be like purposeful and not like I received dressed in the darkish.

I was about to put them back, and then I had a lightbulb second. What if I just truly, really cinch in the midsection (they are very large-waisted) and see what type of pleating/draping takes place? So I did, and well … below is the outcome. I enjoy it! It’s accurately what I have been seeking all along. The bottom of the leg is broad but not exaggeratedly so, but meanwhile there is plenty of quantity in the major 50 percent to have a nice fluid drape — no gaping of the pleats and resulting strange poochiness. It in essence appears to be like like I’m putting on men’s trousers but, like, in an exquisite (not dress-up) form of way.
